Tackett Fork & An Auction

MPT going to KY 08 227I lost internet connection last night so that’s why it’s taken me a little while to be able to post this….

Last night we went to Tackett Fork Freewill Baptist church. It was way, way, way back in the hills. We wound and drove up and around and through valleys and coves to get there. Every once in a while we would see a small gas station but that was about it. The roads where pretty scary as there would be tight, tight curves and coal trucks would be coming toward us at the exact same time. I prayed for safety many times. The scenery was amazing and beautiful. Especially when it started raining and the sun came out at the same time.

We couldn’t find the church so we stopped and asked some folk sitting on there porch. We asked them if they knew a “Delmer” they said they did. They took us to the church and we met Delmer there. He was a very nice guy and he made us feel very welcome. He said that he had been looking forward to this for a long time.

That day though I had a horrible headache. I had not eaten right at all. And so as we were winding through the hills my headache began to become really really horrible headache. I was in bad shape by the time we arrived. I felt so bad. But as we went in I was finally able to get through about four songs all the time taking breaks and laying down in the pews. We were recording for a TV station. So I could take breaks thankfully. It was neat because these breaks I took gave time for the girls to give beautiful testimonies. I have never heard Heidi share her testimony in such a strong, clear, full, way as I did then! Hannah did a beautiful job and it was a good night. The guys there anointed me and prayed over me. It was very sweet and I was able to finish out. As soon as I finished I had to run out of the doors and got extremely sick. It was bad.

We still had the long ride home. I was not done. We still had to wind back out of the deep, deep, deep mountains. I was pretty bad on the way home. My head was killing me! I got sick again (if you know what I mean) and then I was able to make it home… God was so good to allow me to get through my songs that I wanted to at least try to finish.

As I was there and I was singing our song “Build My Mansion”. It took on a whole new meaning to me. Our home and riches are not here. They are in heaven. We may not have anything here… we may not have much… but it doesn’t matter! We have a home, a mansion in heaven and I do hope mine sits near God’s throne. What an awesome thought.

Tonight we went to the auction here in town. We had a good time. It’s in an old barn here at the Haddocks place. Tonight while walking out of the auction it was a beautiful night and the hills beyond the place were alive with the sound of crickets. I love that sound. Reminds me of when I was a little girl and we lived out in the country….

Well, I am doing very well now and things are going good. I am determined to eat healthy while I am here. So I took a trip up to the fruit stand here in town on the hill and got some good fresh fruit! I feel a lot better today.

We have more churches that would like us to come but we don’t have enough Sundays! It’s neat to be able to do this. I really feel the Lords blessings on this. In the mornings I like to get up here and go out on the porch and read my Bible and talk to Jesus. It’s a beautiful place to spend time with Jesus.

Thanks to all you have commented and wrote me emails! I love getting them from you all! I have met two different people who have at one time lived in Taylor Michigan. Talk about a small world. Heidi wants her computer so I need to get off now!
