Kentucky Mountain Mission

Last night we sang and testified at Bear Track Bible Church at the site of Kentucky Mountain Mission. Kentucky Mountain Mission is a beautiful camp. It’s located on one of the highest hills in the county. The people there were very friendly and nice and we had about 30 minutes of singing and testifying. We all told the stories of how we got saved. And we sang out hearts out! ( I was very dry! I know next to get some water and bring with me.) There were many older people and younger people there as well and it was neat to have such a good group! I would say there was about 30-40 people. The young people listened so well!
One funny thing that happened on one song… I was getting ready to sing so we put the track in and I got ready to sing my solo when the demo track played instead. Everyone got a good laugh out of that and I said, “I was wondering what kind of voice was coming out of me”. It was pretty funny and we all laughed but I was thankful I was able to be serious enough to sing the rest of the song!
We also met a guy there who is in charge of the music of the camp I believe and he traveled with Michael Card. We thought that was really neat. He has made a neat CD and we talked a little about making on of our own one of these days. We were asked by the camp out, for the two nights that we are available and sing, for the girls camp that will be going on. We are looking forward to that.
Well, our dear sweet cousins the Dunbars came in last night with their mother, my Aunt Linda. We are having fun and last night we stayed up pretty late! It’s a full house here at Granny’s! I think today we might head to the pool.
Tonight we will be singing for a recording for a TV show in Prestonsberg. We look forward to this and hope that things will go well!
I want to thank you for all the sweet comments and emails I get from you all. We sure do miss our church at home… we love you all and we thank you for your love toward us while we are on the road. We talk about you all pretty much anywhere we go! God bless you all our extended church family. We love you.
Pigeon Roost Community House of Prayer
We just got home from hoedown island. We sang three songs. I was able to tell a short testimony that we loves Jesus. One lady came up to me and said she was so happy to hear that we weren’t scared to talk about Jesus. It was a good night. I was actually able to do the ten step too! I love that. It was a lot of fun. I was happy to be able to sing about Jesus. On the way home tonight we stopped by miguels a pizza shop for hikers and climbers here in the mountains and we got a pizza. It’s good to be home and now it’s time to sleep! Have a great night.
………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
Last night we drove out to Pigeon Roost Community House of Prayer. It was way up in the mountains. We drove, and curved around and drove through some beautiful valleys and over one of the biggest mountains I have ever seen….called “Big Hill”.
On our way up through the mountains thankfully our van did well and we made it all the way up Big Hill. We drove for about 45 minutes to an hour out of town. About 15 minutes in all of us girls were starting to get really pretty sick… I was hanging on as we drove around up and down, as the van swung around the curves I looked down into valleys and coves. I think we counted about 10 hilltops we could see at one point. As we were driving feeling pretty dizzy at this point… Hannah, our dear, sister broke out some strong perfume, at this point we were really sick…. I rolled down the windows and let some mountain air in the car…. I love the smell of the air here. After this we needed to pray I felt…sometimes when you go to do ministry satan loves to get fights going or people saying mean things, as we are all in the van and pressure of different things. And this I am afraid is something I fall into way too much. I started out praying… I prayed for the sweet people we would meet and that they would be encouraged most of all that Jesus would know we loved Him through this and He would be happy with us. We got to laughing soon and we enjoyed the scenery.
After a while we came to a sign that read “Pigeon Roost Community House of Prayer” we took the dirt road that went back in through some trees and down a curving lane. We came into view of a small, white church. There were a few people standing out beside the church when we pulled up…
We went in and heard some of the singers there. They did a great job. I love hearing good music. The Pastor said “The farther you get back into these hills the more you see we do things different”.
We got up and sang some songs and each of us girls gave our testimonies in between each song. We talked about the difference Jesus made in our lives. There was another young guy who gave His testimony about how God saved him from a life of drugs. It’s so neat to see God working in the hearts of these sweet people…. He is still working.

Here we are with Jan. She had a beautiful voice and we enjoyed hearing her sing. We enjoyed meeting the friendly people and making new friends. When we left they invited us back and were waving goodbye…. They were an exciting group to talk to. They got excited about Jesus…
After we got done the Pastor asked my mom if she would like to testify. I thought it was funny because my mom doesn’t like to talk in front of people. She always hated it when Dad would have her testify… but she stood to her feet and said she loved Jesus and she was thankful that her mom took her to church and that she now has children who love Jesus. Then the Pastor asked my Grandma to testify. My Grandma Allene was there and she never talks in front of people. I was ready to stand up and talk for her when she took a hold of the pew in front of her and stood to her feet. She spoke up loud and clear she said “I love Jesus and I don’t know what I would do without Him” she went on and talked about her children and how they loved Jesus. It was a beautiful testimony. She said that it was the first time she has ever shared her testimony in front of people.
The Pastor said “That’s three generations there! Isn’t that something” It’s so neat to see that when Jesus wants to change a family and when He comes in He makes all the difference in the world. And no one can help but talk about Him.
We were asked to sing one more song before the night ended and we walked out into the beautiful evening.. “Without Him”. I can’t help but think sometimes where would I be without Him. I would be dying, I would be enslaved and have no hope. I love Him. I know people who didn’t have Him. He is my Hope, my joy, my lover, my King, my God how can anyone live life without Him.
Thanks for reading the blog… I so enjoy getting your comments… from our neighbor just down the road, to our missionary thank you for your encouraging words and the prayers too cousin Carlie! We love you Dad…. and brothers…. Blessings to all.
Natural Bridge
Well, Friends it’s been a full day here!
Us girls got up early this morning and went to Natural Bridge. We rode the sky lift up to the top! That was so much easier than hiking! The scenery on the way up the lift was beautiful! Though I have hiked up before and I love that too. It was beautiful day though it was in the 90’s I believe. We thought about the pool there at natural bridge the whole time and we enjoyed that at the end of our group pictures and hiking around… it was a good thing to look forward to.
We came home here to Campton and we went to the singing on the street. We just watched and listened tonight it was some good bluegrass and we are looking forward to being there again when our schedule allows it. We got booked two more times at a church and singing just tonight … so we are looking forward to those. Our picture just came out in the paper here tonight and it tells a little about our ministry here and what we are doing.
Here is Heidi on top of natural bridge in the mountains that she loves.Things are going really well and tomorrow we will be singing in Jackson County. We are looking forward to that and would love it if you could remember to pray for us at about 6:00 pm if you think about it.
Well, it’s getting late and I am ready to go to sleep for the evening… it’s been a long full day. Tomorrow promises to be another one. I will have to update soon with more pictures. Tomorrow night we will be traveling to Jackson County. I hear it is a cute small little town and there will be a singing at The House of Prayer. We are looking forward it it and I will let you know how it goes.
Thanks to those you have been encouraging and writing notes and comments! We love you all.
Isaiah 52:7
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”

Little Eyes
Yesterday I went to Aunt Lavonne’s house. We visited with my Grandma Allene and cousins. Our cousin Faith surprised us when we walked in and started singing one of our songs…. “God On The Mountain” and “Your Still God” and “Build My Mansion” She almost had all the words down. Lavonne said she will stand by the TV and watch us (we were recorded on a small tv program) and sing with us. Every word.
When I saw this it warmed my heart! In the middle of singing she said “This is SO much fun!” I realized in the smallest ways you can have an influence. And you have no idea where or to who… but it just might be the most important thing of the whole trip! To be an influence for good to this little, sweet cousin of mine Faith. You never know. She is right it IS fun.
I am working on planning stuff even while I am here. I have been working at staying in contact and we are scheduled to be at Bethany Christian Mission on the 27th of this month. We are looking forward to it.
I am trying to take every opportunity to practice and sing that we can. Today we need to go get a few things so we will make the drive into Lexington I believe. We like to practice singing while we are in the car going places. I also am learning more on my guitar! I like to sit out on the porch and play it there.
Well, we are getting ready to leave. Today I need to try to go to the nursing home and see if we can get a time to sing to the folks there…. I will either try to do that today or tomorrow. I am looking forward to the singing on the square tomorrow. This is where we get to enjoy some good bluegrass!

“The Friendliest Town In The Mountains”
Here we are traveling through Ohio, West Virginia and into Kentucky.
We came through some of the cutest little towns in Ohio.
We took some of the beautiful back roads into Kentucky. It was a beautiful place. Campton has the saying “The Friendliest Town In The Mountains” it’s good to be here….
Today we will be traveling to Jackson to visit some family… I will update again with more pictures of the pierpontsingers on the road.
Granny’s House
Well, we made it in to Campton KY. It was a beautiful drive through Ohio, West Virginia and into Kentucky. Tonight we will sleep well. It’s kinda warm here a little humid, but it’s beautiful. When we got to Granny’s house mom went in and came out with a big smile on her face and said “We have running water” We are thankful for the simple things.
We are thankful to Jesus tonight for all the simple blessings He has given to us. He has been so good. When you go to sleep tonight and you say your last bedtime prayers just tell Him how thankful you are for His blessings. I know I will. He has been so good. I am so glad to be here to be able to talk about Him more and tell others how beautiful He is to us. He has been good. Hasn’t He?
Thanks for all your sweet comments, love and prayers! We love you all….. Goodnight Friends.

Kentucky Borderline
Kentucky here we come… We will cross that Kentucky Borderline and we will be one happy group of girls! You should hear us when we cross the borderline… we’re crazy. We will be leaving here in a few minutes and then we will be on the road to Kentucky I hear it’s about 5 hours.
Ok, You have to listen to this song. It’s one of my favorites….
She pulled out of Mobile
in the pouring rain,
Moving through the darkness
like a hurricane.
From southern New Port waters
to the Cumberland so green,
Louisville by Nashville
and all points in between.
Pounding out a rhythm
making up lost time,
Heading for that
bluegrass state of mine.
(Chorus)
White smoke a rollin’
Whistle a blowin’
Listening to her engine keeping time
Kentucky borderline.
Montgomery my morning
Birmingham by noon,
Onward through the timber
upward to the moon.
Her lonesome whistle cries
a low sighed refrain,
like the boys down on Mill street
singing of the pain.
No one is gonna stop her
from her appointed rounds,
This train is moving on
its glory bound.
(Chorus)
Her lungs are full of fire
breathing burning coal,
A raging locamotion
like thunder when it rolls.
Singing for the mighty
who cast her molten steel,
Drawed the spike and layed the rail
to ride beneath her wheels.
The pride of our nation
she’s a monument to them,
A southern bell
that mighty L&N
Next blog will be from KY. Love you all!!!
Portersville, Ohio
Update:
Tonight went well. We had a good group of people. They were sweet and kind and very open to us. Hannah and Hope shared their testimonies. Then Grandma sang with us! We all sang “Without Him” together. It worked out well…. Grandma loves to sing and I think that’s where we got out love for singing from….
I wanted to thank the Casement Ladies for leaving us your sweet comment. We miss you all too… very much. We thank you for leaving your comment. We love to hear from you. Thanks also to our inspiring Dad who leaves us encouraging comments along the way! We love you!
Well, it’s getting late. Mom and Hope are already drifting off to sleep over there on the double bed. And I am typing to the sound of the fan blowing around. It’s not too humid tonight, it’s actually pretty quiet and peaceful here in the hills. Goodnight Friends…. Next stop Kentucky.
…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
We are here in Portersville. We got in lastnight after dark. It is beautiful here in the rolling hills of Portersville. I got internet access at Grandma and Grandpa’s so I am happy and I can update. It’s a BEAUTIFUL day here. The sun is shining it’s warm but not too warm.
Today I woke up early to the sound of birds singing here…. mom and I and Hope are in the upper loft bedroom of my Grandma and Grandpa Pierponts home. It’s a beautiful spot here where the hills are rolling. Here we are sittin on the porch
Today the church bell rang loud and clear just before Sunday school started here at Zion Christian Union church. We sang our hearts out and told our testimonies. Heidi shared her testimony of how God saved her. She brought tears to the eyes of many. I told my testimony and Hope sang her solo. Everyone loved Hope. Grandpa preached a good message and shortly after we went to a carry in dinner accross the street. The food was great and the pie was even better! Wwe are sitting on the back proch talking now. The porch is close to the woods where it’s shady and a cool breeze blows….
We will be singing tonight and in a few minutes we will walk down the road to the church to practice. …
